WHO WE ARE

MISSION/VISION

The Clean Air Coalition of Coeymans and Greater Ravena (CAC) is a community group with a mission to address the environmental and public health concerns of waste management, incineration, tire burning, and port expansion in the Town of Coeymans, New York. We are concerned with the impact all will have on the Capital District and the Hudson River, specifically on the Greater Ravena-Coeymans area. The CAC aims to build a stronger community able to create a cleaner and more equitable future for the environment, the river, and the people who live here.

ENVIRONMENTAL ALLIES

The work of the Clean Air Coalition wouldn’t be possible without the support of our environmental allies. Each group helps the CAC with advice, legal representation, and most importantly, building our platform to stop tire/waste burning at the Lafarge cement plant and the consequences of continual industrial expansion at the Port of Coeymans.

GOALS

  1. To prevent the burning of waste at the Lafarge cement plant
  2. To push for a cumulative impact statement on the consequence of further industrial expansion at the Port of Coeymans.
  3. To offer up alternatives, measures, and suggestions for a healthier, non-polluting, waste management system that makes efficient use of local resources.
  4. To collaborate with state agencies, corporations, politicians, not-for-profits, environmental community groups, and other like-minded individuals raising awareness of climate change issues.

VALUES

  • Environmental Justice
