Hans Warnstadt grew up in the house that his father build in 1969 on River Road. His father bought the 1-acre wooded parcel from Ten Eyck Powell Jr. and enjoyed the privacy that the land provided his family for over 50 years. Hans’s mother still lives there. Hans lives down the road. Both are saddened by the loss of the habitat behind their home and both are worried about what Carver Laraway will do to the land in the future.

RCS Biology Teacher/Union President and Legislator in Albany County’s 36th District talks about the gathering to protest the Coeymans Town Board from making changes to the local law that will allow tires to be burned at Lafarge cement plant.
Extinction Rebellion helps the CAC bring attention to Albany County Legislators urging them to pass the Clean Air Act, which successful passed in September 2020… but that didn’t stop Coeymans from making amendments to the local law to continue to allow tire burning at Lafarge.
